Inn at the Presidio is located at historic Pershing Hall on the Main Post, the “heart of the Presidio.” In the U.S. Army days, the Main Post was the Presidio’s social and administrative center. Today, it is a cultural gathering place and where most park visits begin.

Built in 1903, the elegant Georgian Revival-style building was once home to unmarried officers (their married counterparts lived nearby in the Victorian cottages along Officers’ Row, the oldest intact streetscape in San Francisco). It was named for General John J. “Black Jack” Pershing who served at the Presidio of San Francisco and who became commander of the American Expeditionary Force in France during World War I. The building later was a Visiting Officers’ Quarters until the Army’s departure in 1994. Pershing Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In our main building, you will find our lobby and reception, with a fireplace and inviting atmosphere, as well as an outdoor fire pit and gathering place. You will also find our refurbished “mess hall”, a warm community breakfast room and lounge area, with an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese reception. The main building contains 3 floors of rooms with additional meeting & boardroom space.
